The Arcade is a custom-made web application built using React and Node.js that was designed for the purpose of showcasing games created by members of the NC State University community. It supports games built for WebGL and HTML5 and hosts content about the game's creation so that visitors can learn more about the behind the scenes of the game. The Arcade is now available to the public in the Innovation Studio in Hill Library at NC State University.

Takeaways

During this project, I worked as the lead developer for the web-application. From transferring Figma diagrams to React components, to setting up content storage and loading using JSONs and Node.js, all the way to programming a Raspberry Pi to host the application, I had my hands in every aspect of this project and was learning how to do it on the way.
